Our Story

A Mission Bay table for over 20 years

Mission Bay Cafe has been in the hub of the bay for more than two decades — a cafe and eatery open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, built around fresh New Zealand produce and a beautiful, relaxed waterfront setting just 8 minutes from the CBD.

Our team is like family — many key staff have been with us five years or more — and our loyal local suppliers keep the meat, veggies and dry goods fresh. Toasted Espresso has roasted our coffee for the past ten years, and it's a real favourite.

Mission Bay Restaurant

As the light drops, the kitchen shifts gear. Start with small plates made for sharing — grilled garlic bread, Mediterranean dips and Turkish pide, Wagyu meatballs, cured salmon, and our much-loved Korean fried chicken.

Then settle into the mains — seafood chowder, a rib eye cooked just right, or the vegan Buddha bowl — and finish with apple & rhubarb crumble, crème brûlée or a molten chocolate pud.
